It has been a long while since I made a blog post. I'll be honest; I don't have a good excuse on why I stopped blogging. I have just been feeling very lazy and unmotivated to blog. However, I think I do have a reason to blog a lot more now, since I got a new camera! Before I was just using my iPhone camera, and it did discourage me a bit because the quality wasn't the best. But now I have my own digital SLR camera! It's the Cannon EOS Rebel T3i. My family gave it to me for my birthday! I really love the camera. It's easy to use and I like how the pictures turn out! Bear in mind I am no expert in photography, but I am satisfied with my new camera.
I actually have some reviews I plan on doing, so hopefully I'll blog a lot from now on. In the meantime, here are some pictures from my new camera.
Loki, my best and favourite model (also my only one).
I don't know why, but I find this pose hilarious. She never sat like that before! It's like she's trying to look thoughtful and seductive at the same time.
An adorable stuffed cat my family got for me for Christmas. Except I only received it in February when I went to visit them in Montreal. My sister said it's because it never came on time, so they decided to give it to me when I went to visit them. I believe my sister has a light green version of this plush.
The present was a gift I wrapped for a Secret Santa we were suppose to do with Ben's family. It never happened, though. So yes, I have a spare gift laying around my apartment and I have no idea what to do with it. I guess it'd just be a photo prop, haha.
Chicken wings with mushrooms and onions with oyster sauce. It's one of my mom's dishes, and it's soo good. I actually never asked her for the recipe, so I improvised. It doesn't taste as good as my mom's, but still good nonetheless. It is heavenly to have with white rice.
Soba noodles in spicy beef broth with half a boiled egg, thinly sliced pork, wakame and a quarter sheet of nori. Soba noodles and wakame are my new addictions. I remember I first thought soba noodles were weird, because before they're boiled they have the texture and consistency of cardboard. But once you boil them, they're super soft and delicious! Wakame is seaweed, but I find they're a bit chewy and crunchy, which I really like. I have been adding wakame into pretty much everything I eat.
Gyozas! They weren't homemade, but they were bought pre-made at T&T. I never thought I'd ever say this, but I miss dim sum so much. For the past 20 years of my life, my family and I would go for dim sum every Saturday. I got so sick of it to the point where I borderline hate it. But it's so strange, because I've been really craving har gow and siu mai like mad crazy for the past few weeks. At T&T, they do sell them frozen and pre-made, but it's really expensive. A pack of 3 would cost $5. So, I settled with frozen gyozas, since they were much cheaper.
And finally! On my birthday, we were in town, and Ben and I were browsing until we stumbled upon...
A Pikachu 3DS XL.
It's so cute, isn't it?! I'm not a really big fan of Pikachu to begin with either. I never knew it existed, and neither did Ben. I don't know what Ben was thinking, but he ended up buying it...although we both already had our own 3DSs. -__- His argument was that neither of us had a 3DS XL. That, and because it was cute and Pikachu. The 3DS XL isn't much bigger than the regular 3DS. It's slightly longer and slightly wider. Because it's longer and wider, it gives the illusion that it's thinner, but it's really the same height as the regular 3DS.
I guess in a way it was fortunate that Ben decided to buy it, because I was just surfing the web last night when I ran into an article on the new Pikachu 3DS XL. It was just released on the day I bought it, along with Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (which I also bought being a fan of the first Luigi's Mansion). Apparently, Nintendo has a promotion where you get a free game if you register your 3DS XL and your copy of Luigi's Mansion or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. I was really excited since we coincidentally have the requirements for the free game, but the promotion ends April 30th. I look over to my calendar and it was April 30th. I was kind of bummed since I thought it expired already, but I nonetheless registered the 3DS XL and Luigi's Mansion on Club Nintendo, and we ended up getting our game!
